1.  ENJOY CASA GRACIELA'S ON-SITE AMENITIES

Casa Graciela has numerous fantastic amenities available right on the property.   The oceanfront location, along with 8th floor viewing terrace, offer plenty to enjoy.  Some of the things we particularly like to do on-site are:

  • Snorkeling - Just steps away from El Cantil's 2 private piers
  • Infinity Edge Oceanfront Pool - Sipping cocktails at sunset is a must
  • Swimming - Swimming for exercise in the natural aquarium is a fantastic morning routine
  • Sunsets - Whether from the pool or Casa Graciela's private terrace, everyday is magical
  • Cruise Ship Watching - Observing these behemoth's move on the water from the terrace is incredible
  • Yoga On The Terrace - Try this on a rainy day, it's the perfect Zen experience
  • Olhausen Pool Table - Challenge your billiard skills with a friendly game or two
  • Chess - Enjoy a match on the locally crafted Aztec/Spaniard chess board
  • Paddle Board - Rent from  De Lille Sports, only a 2 minute walk from Casa Graciela

2.  SCUBA DIVING IN COZUMEL

Cozumel is famous for its gorgeous waters, stunning coral reefs and superb scuba diving conditions, making it one of the top 5 dive destinations in the world. The crystal clear water boasts an amazing visibility of 70m. The Coral National Park in Cozumel measures 22km in length and is part of the “Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System''. It is considered the second largest barrier reef in the world stretching along the coasts of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras and is a dazzling display of the rich diversity of life just below the waves.

Although there are numerous dive shops to choose from in Cozumel, we personally use and highly recommend Scuba Mau Dive Shop for many reasons.  Oh, and did we mention they will pick you up at the private dock below, just steps away!  Doesn't get any more convenient than that.

3.  PERSONALIZED EXCURSIONS

With so many things to do in Cozumel, excursion opportunities are really endless. There are just so many to choose from, and let's be honest, some are great, while others can be a major disappointment. We have found over the years that it is important to book with an excursion company you can trust and count on for your special adventure. We have personal experience with and highly recommend the two local tour companies listed in this section.

  • Flip Concierge and Tours Cozumel - a one-stop shop tour, excursion and concierge service. Cindy, the local owner, is very connected to the Cozumel community. She is an expert in organizing small and large groups, special occasions, as well as day trips for Cozumel vacationers.
  • Pesca Solos Experiences - provides experiences that are coordinated by our personal friend & owner Dario Ricaalde. Dario is a true lover of the sea and always provides an unforgettable personalized excursion. He caters to smaller groups. For his Panga Boat, he can accommodate 6 comfortably.

4.  BIKING

Whether using bikes for getting around the town of San Miguel or entering into more lofty pursuits like touring the whole island in a day, cycling in Cozumel gives you the chance to take in the sights and sounds at a relaxed pace and makes you earn your margaritas!

Cozumel is a safe place to ride bikes, though you have to use the same common sense and precautions you’d use when riding anywhere. For example, use a helmet, signal when you’re turning, use lights at night, and never assume that drivers can see you. Once you are outside the town, you will find a designated bike path along the coast (one goes north, the other goes south and all the way around the eastern side of the island, then looping back into town).

Please enjoy our 2023 customized Trek Marlin mountain bikes to tour the island and get around during your stay.  Get out and ride!

5.  SHOPPING IN COZUMEL

Along with the powdery beaches, world-renowned diving, and rich culture that the island is known for, the shopping in Cozumel is fantastic. Explore vibrant San Miguel, give your bargaining skills a bit of exercise at the markets, or browse for clothing, jewelry, and local art at smaller shops and boutiques.

One of our top recommendations would be to head to downtown San Miguel’s zocalo (town square) for some of the best Cozumel shopping. Plaza del Sol or also referred to as Parque Benito Juárez, is located in the heart of downtown and is a must-stop on any shopping expedition.  Here you can also take a break at one of the many restaurants or bars serving authentic Mexican fare.

6.  ATLANTIS SUBMARINE COZUMEL

The Atlantis Submarine is Mexico’s only real submarine designed for tourism that navigates to Chankanaab National Park (one of the reefs) through and around 30 ft coral heads reaching a depth of 100 feet. This is a fun & HIGHLY recommended experience if you do not dive but are curious about going under the sea to see the incredible ocean life and terrain of the Caribbean.

The vessel is pressurized and air-conditioned for comfort, making it ideal for all ages. The adventure includes exploring the marine fauna of the Cozumel reef passing near “La Pared”, a vertical drop that plummets to more than 2000 ft deep at the edge of the island, and passing by the sunken ship “Felipe Xicotencatl”, an artificial reef that will impress you with its scenery and underwater mystery. The expedition is professionally done and throughout your voyage, an informative narration is provided by the co-pilot. It’s recommended that you purchase tickets online to ensure your preferred time slot.

7.  BEACH CLUBS

Aside from our beachfront, you may want to visit any of the numerous beach clubs complete with white sandy beaches, azure water, and many offer additional activities and amenities. If you choose to tour the island on bike, many are located along the bike path headed south which make for fun pit stops during your bike trip. Some of the beach clubs directly on the ocean that you can hit along the bike path include The Money Bar Beach Club, Skyreef Beach Club, Mr. Sanchos Beach Club, Alberto’s Beach Club, and Playa Palancar Cozumel Beach Club, just to name a few!

8.  TOUR THE EAST SIDE (WILD SIDE)

A tour to the east side of the island can be a terrific experience. The east side of Cozumel, known as the “Wild Side'', is like stepping back in time. Once you experience the Caribbean Ocean on the “Wild Side'' you will see that it is appropriately named. With the Caribbean Ocean to the east and the jungle to the west, you will feel like you're on a secluded island (photo opp).

The wild side has a handful of great beach bars along the water as well. There is no development or electricity and therefore the bars accept cash only, so be prepared.

  • Bar Miami - Bar Miami is a bar on the east side that claims to have the best mojitos ever. Guess what? They have the best mojitos EVER.
  • Coconuts - The world famous Coconuts. The atmosphere is amazing in a jungle-like setting on the water, with parrots and chameleons to keep you company.
  • Señor Iguanas - Another great spot frequented by locals, us included, is Señor Iguanas. We like to venture there on days when they have live music.

9.  FERRY TO PLAYA DEL CARMEN

With so many activities on the mainland, taking the ferry to Playa del Carmen can be a great way to spend the day. Playa del Carmen is easily accessible from Casa Graciela, as the ferry dock is a short 16 minute walk, or even a shorter taxi ride. A few of our favorite things to do are personal guided tours, golf, shopping & dining.

  • Tours - Arrange a tour to some of the best sites the mainland has to offer. If you are looking for a private customized tour of the mainland, consider hiring Marisa Costas with Costa Private Tour Guides for the day for an authentic experience.
  • Golf - If golf is your passion, the golf courses in Playa Del Carmen may be worth a day trip across. The most popular courses are the Hard Rock Golf Club, the Iberostar Golf Club Playa Paraiso, the Grand Coral Golf Riviera Maya, and El Camaleon Mayakoba Golf Club.
  • Restaurants & Shopping - You may decide you want to just spend the day strolling around in Playa Del Carmen relaxing, shopping, eating, and people watching before returning to Cozumel on the ferry.  As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mexico, Playa Del Carmen’s Fifth Avenue is a hotbed for high-end retailers, bars, restaurants, local shops, cafes, street entertainment, and more.

10.  KID-FOCUSED BEACH CLUBS

If you are traveling with children, you may want to visit one of several kid-focused Beach Clubs in Cozumel. Our family members who have young kids have enjoyed two local Beach clubs, Playa Mia Grand Beach Park and Paradise Beach Club.
